Paragliding on the Isle of Wight
Paragliding on the Isle of Wight
The Isle of Wight’s unique climate escapes the worst effects of low pressure which means there are more flyable days throughout the year. Regular summer sea-breezes provide smooth flying conditions that are essential for rapid and easy learning of basic paragliding skills. It's no wonder the Island has been the training ground for a number of top British pilots.
Taster Days & Lessons
There are two paragliding schools on the Isle of Wight, both run by highly qualified professional instructors and offering a variety of courses.
Choose from 1-day paragliding taster through to full Student Pilot and Club Pilot training.
1 or 2-day tasters make a fantastic gift or group experience, giving a real taste of the thrills of this most simple form of free flight. Conditions allowing, students can expect to be soaring several feet off the ground within the first day, under the watchful eye and guidance of an experienced instructor.
The Club Pilot qualification is your ticket to fly solo at any of the hundreds of club sites across the UK and across the world. Gaining a Club Pilot qualification takes time and dedication and some luck with mother nature, but once qualified, the sky is quite literally the limit!
