Isle of Wight Festival

IoW Festival Videos

We've gathered together a collection of Isle of Wight Festival videos dating back to 1969.

The inaugural IoW Festival, the UK's first great rock festival was in 1968 and was so successful it was repeated in 1969 with a bigger line-up that included Bob Dylan, The Who and Free. The promoters secured the World's biggest acts for the 1970 festival and sold 600,000 tickets. Some 400,000 gate crashers led to a festival ban on the Isle of Wight until dispensation was given to John Gidding's to revive the legend in 2002.
