About Arreton
Arreton is home to several of the Island’s most popular attractions, making it an ideal place to spend the day.
From Alfred the Great to Charles I, Arreton Manor has played a major part in English history. The manor was first mentioned in Alfred the Great’s will in 885, when he left the estate to his youngest son, Etherward, and it remains one of the Island’s most imposing buildings. If you can’t bear to leave the stately surroundings you can even stay the night in one of two luxurious guest bedrooms.
For Arreton animal magic, head to Amazon World, and experience the rainforest indoors. With over 200 species of birds many in walk through aviaries, plants and rare species of animals, this is a great attraction for the animal lover.
And if you’re a daredevil with a head for heights, nothing beats Robin Hill Country Park, with rides including the mighty swing -boat Colossus and a 400-metre toboggan run. Set in lush woodland, Robin Hill is also a great place to spot the rare Red Squirrel.
For a spot of retail therapy Arreton Barns is a great place to shop for Island crafts and a wide array of local produce.

- Arreton Barns Craft Village provides the visitor with the chance to watch woodcraft, glass-sculpting and pottery artists at work. You can also buy handmade souvenirs.
- The Shipwreck & Maritime Museum is home to exhibitions and interactive displays about the Isle of Wight's maritime history.
- Amazon World Zoo Park just outside Arreton gives the visitor a chance to learn about conservation and rainforests and come face to face with some of the worlds most unusual, beautiful and endangered creatures. Some you won't be able to see anywhere else in the UK or even Europe!
