FolkStation 2012 - Ticket & Entry Terms and Conditions

Red Funnel is an official ticket agent for FolkStation 2012. Tickets/Wristbands purchased from Red Funnel are subject to the terms and conditions outlined below.

By purchasing FolkStation Festival tickets from the Promoter or its agent (Red Funnel), you are entering into a contractual arrangement with the Promoter of the Festival (Folkstation Ltd, Woodside Lodge, Ashlake Copse Road, Ryde Isle of Wight PO33 4EY).

a. In the event of the cancellation by the Promoter, the Promoter will only refund the face value of the ticket and cannot be held responsible for any travel or other costs incurred. Red Funnel will use its best endeavours to contact purchasers either by phone, email or in writing (using the details provided at the time of ordering) and advise them to return their tickets. It remains the customer's responsibility to check whether the event is going ahead at the scheduled date, time and venue, and Red Funnel cannot guarantee that they will inform the customer of any changes to the event date, time or venue.

b. In the event the venue or festival dates are changed or the headline acts do not appear or if the line up is substantially changed from the advertised line up then any refund will be at the sole discretion of the Promoter and not the Agent.

  • Weekend tickets cover entry to all events from 16:00 Friday to 21:00 Sunday.
  • Holders of weekend tickets may purchase a camping pitch ticket, if they intend to camp onsite.  Entry to the camping site is available from 12:00 on Thursday 5th July and you need to vacate by 12:00 noon Monday 9th July.
  • Child tickets are available for children aged 5 to 15 accompanied by a parent.  Children under 5 are admitted free, but each must be accompanied by a parent with a full ticket.  Children under the age of 11 must be supervised at all times.
  • Tickets are not transferable.  No refunds will be made unless the event is cancelled prior to its commencement.
  • The Organisers reserve the right to refuse entry of any ticket holder to the event site.
  • Admission to the site is at the ticket holder's own risk. The Organisers will not be liable for accident, injury, damage sustained or loss or theft of property whilst on site.
  • Ticket holders give their express consent to the use of their actual or simulated likeness in connection with any authorised production, exhibition, advertising film, video and / or audio recording of this event.  This includes filming by the police or security, which may be carried out for the protection of customers.
  • Unauthorised photography or use of recording equipment to capture images or sound recordings of the artists is prohibited unless consent is obtained from both the event organisers and the artists.
  • Damage by persons to the site or property will lead to prosecution to the full extent of the law.
  • Anyone found causing harm to any other person on site or to be in breach of our terms and conditions may be excluded from the site and subsequently prosecuted or subject to civil action.
  • It is prohibited for any person under the age of 18 to have alcohol in their possession or consume alcohol on the site or any peripheral site associated with the festival and campsite.  The organisers reserve the right to confiscate alcohol in the possession of anyone unable to provide suitable photographic identification which confirms they are 18 years of age or over.
  • Coaches, buses or lorries are not allowed on site, even if converted for accommodation.
  • All attendees, their tents, caravans and motor homes must be removed from site by 12:00 noon on Monday 9th July 2012.  Any property left after this time will be removed and disposed of at the owners risk.  All ticket holders agree to vacate the site by this time.
  • Please also note that this is a rural location with no street lighting, so please take extreme care when entering of leaving the site whether on foot or in a vehicle.
  • Please observe the 5mph speed limit around the site and be aware when you arrive or leave the site that routes and entrances are all shared with pedestrians.
  • The event organisers reserve the right to make any change whatsoever to the published programme owing to unforeseen or unavoidable causes.  Changes of any act within the programme does not constitute cancellation of the event as a whole.
  • No unauthorised trading, fly pitching or any other unauthorised sale or distribution of goods, services or materials is permitted.
  • No illegal items or substances may be brought onto the festival site; any found will lead to exclusion from the site and prosecution.
  • No glass bottles, drinking glasses or other glass objects that might present a risk to others are allowed in the performance arenas. The organisers reserve the right to remove any glass items in the possession of attendees.
  • Those with special needs should contact the organisers in advance to check whether the event is suitable to their particular requirements.
  • Please note that this is a temporary, outdoor event taking place on agricultural ground and is subject to varying weather and ground conditions.  We therefore advise that you check the weather forecast for the day of your visit, consider the nature of the event and the effects of any inclement weather on surface conditions, and wear suitable clothing and footwear.  In extreme weather conditions, access may be restricted in the interest of safety.
  • While the campsite and all venues will be marshalled in accordance with statutory guidelines, the organisers accept no liability for loss or damage to persons or property however caused.
  • Please switch mobile phones off during all performances.
  • The site is an agricultural field so facilities will be adequate but basic.  We know that staying on site is the best way of enjoying all the many activities that will be going on.  However, if you desire a more luxurious arrangement, there are several nearby campsites with electricity, showers, etc.  We would be pleased to advise you on how to contact these sites.
  • Persons should camp only in the designated camping areas.
  • Camping pitches will accommodate a large tent, a camper or caravan with pup tent.  A single pitch is notionally 36 square metres but will vary in size and shape depending on the exact location in the field.  You must follow the guidance of our stewards when setting up on your pitch.  Their decision on your pitch location is final.  If the space you need exceeds the pitch size then you may need to purchase an additional pitch on arrival at site.  The stewards will arrange this with you.
  • There are nearby farms and animals so it is important that no rubbish escapes from our site.  There will be plenty of rubbish containers and recycling points but please bring with you suitable bags, etc, to contain any rubbish that you might have.  Please make sure that any paper plates, pieces of paper, and especially plastic bags are kept securely in rubbish containers.
  • No open fires are allowed on the site, including the designated campsite area.  Charcoal BBQs are allowed for cooking purposes, on the campsite only, using a suitable raised protective platform which minimises fire risk and avoids damage to the grass, and a fire bucket to extinguish any small fire that may occur.  This is a farming area and the field is used for animals through out the year so make sure you do not leave any ash or food materials behind.
  • Hopefully you will enjoy your days and evenings and we ask that you remember that some people need a good night’s sleep to be ready for the rigors of the next day.  So we ask that you keep the noise down to an absolute minimum after 12:00 at night.  Please respect the needs of your fellow campers and local residents.
  • Dogs are permitted on the festival site but because of the nearby farm animals, they must be kept on a lead and under strict control at all times.  We do expect you to clear up after them.  Only registered guide dogs are permitted within the performance marquees.  If you have sight problems and are bringing a guide dog please let us know when you purchase your ticket.
  • Please do not leave valuables on the campsites or in your vehicle.  This is not a secure site and site is open at night.  There are patrols at night so if you see or hear anything suspicious please contact the night security staff.
We sincerely hope you enjoy the festival but please let us know if there is something wrong (we could already be doing something about it).  Stewards are available and please listen to their requests.  They are all volunteers and don’t deserve a hard time.  Please keep smiling, that way we think we are doing something right!
