January Line-up:

FIN TAYLOR
CARLY SMALLMAN
ANDREW O’NEILL

Fin Taylor
Fin Taylor is a stand-up comedian who, at the age of just 23, has gigged internationally, warmed up for TV shows such as Never Mind the Buzzcocks and BBC1’s Pointless, and supported Glenn Wool on tour.

A regular performer at the Edinburgh Festival, he has appeared in prestigious showcases such as The Lunchtime Club (2011) and The Big Value Show (2012), and in 2013 his 40-minute solo show Cramp played to full houses throughout the month.

“Highly rated up-and-comer” The Guardian “Original, Distinctive and Fresh” Chortle

Carly Smallman
Carly Smallman sings funny songs. She was born in 1985, but didn’t begin performing stand-up comedy until 2009. Her unique blend of outrageous impropriety and adorable sincerity has established her as a firm favourite on the comedy circuit. She has played at some fabulous venues, from major weekend comedy clubs, to arts centres, to the Hammersmith Apollo to her living room!

She has appeared as a panellist on VIRAL TAP (ITV) doing stand-up on THE ROB BRYDON SHOW (BBC2), was a regular cast member for hidden camera show SECRET INTERVIEW (Channel 5), moaned about irritating individuals on THE MOST ANNOYING PEOPLE 2011 (BBC3), and criticised people’s life choices on THE TOP 50 PLASTIC SURGERY SHOCKERS (E4). She has also written and performed sketches for BBC Comedy Online, and has been heard on WHAT’S SO FUNNY (BBC Radio 4 Extra) with Rufus Hound.

Competition terrifies Carly, but she was a Musical Comedy Awards Finalist (20110), a Laughing Horse Semi-Finalist (2010), and finalist and first runner-up in the Bedford New Comedian of the Year (2010). In 2009 and 2010 she was an Amused Moose Hot Starlet, and in 2009 she was also shortlisted for the final of the Musical Comedy Awards.

She once filmed an advert for ‘Take A Break’ Magazine…her Mum was really proud.

‘A bundle of energy’…The Sun ‘Smutty, outspoken jollity’…The Telegraph

Andrew O’Neill
Andrew O’Neill is a stand-up comedian, a metalhead, an amateur occultist and a musician. He’s pretty much been a show off since birth. He created comedy sketches in assemblies at school, and pissed away his A Levels making comedy films with his mates on his brother’s camcorder.

He has done a bit of telly, (including Never Mind The Buzzcocks, and Saxondale with Steve Coogan) and lots of radio (including BBC Radio 1, Radio 4, Radio 4 Extra, and 5live) but live is where the hidden mind-control signals planted in his work are most effective.

He is a bit of a regular on the comedy stages at Download, Sonisphere, Bloodstock, Leeds and Reading festivals. He’s opened for Amanda Palmer off of the Dresden Dolls, done audience warm-up for Never Mind the Buzzcocks, hosted the Metal Hammer Golden Gods, played at Torture Garden and the Bizarre Magazine Ball and loads of other events where people mainly wear shiny things.

He is a vegan, as you can tell by the fact that he has a lithe, sinewy body. He is a heterosexual transvestite, as you can tell by the fact that he wears female clothes and fancies girls. He is not a goth. This is an understandable error, but there is a difference between a metaller who cross-dresses and a goth. And if need be he will fight you to demonstrate that difference. He has nothing against goths. Some of his best friends are goths. Their food is lovely and they have natural rhythm.

“An increasingly distinctive, imaginative act… brilliant, genuinely unexpected lines are added to the mix. At this rate, it won’t be long until he’s huge” Chortle

“One of the funniest comedians on the circuit at the moment… hitting new heights of comedic brilliance” TimeOut

“He’s got a natural optimism and love of silliness that leaves you feeling remarkably positive… a winning blend of polemic and off-beat whimsy.” The Guardian
