Job Seeking Support @ Ventnor Library, 17 April

17 April - Workshop at Ventnor Library

FREE

Tardis

Come and join others looking for work in the Ventnor area to access informal support using computers for anything from hobbies to housing, every Thursday between 9.30am and 12noon.

Our volunteers can help users by providing a friendly and supported environment for CV writing services and support using the computers which helps them fulfil the requirements expected through Universal Job Match.

Since the scheme was launched in June 2013, we have seen a great range of people from skilled seasonal workers, long-term unemployed to stay at home mums looking to go back to work and those recently redundant.

Everyone brings a different story....

Ventnor Timebank is lucky enough to have attracted members with professional skills and experience which they wish to share with other people in the community without connection to any formal agency.

Our regular team of two volunteers meet every Thursday to support job seeking activities. We have watched people leave us for new jobs and we also have people that regularly come back as they continue their search for work.

This project is managed in accordance with Ventnor Timebank's Code of Conduct and Associated Policies.

Timebank Volunteers can support individuals taking steps to job seeking, responsibility for job searches and steps to employment remains with our users.

1 March - 30 April - Exhibition at Dimbola Museums and Galleries

Dimbola_lodge2

Exhibition runs from 1st March to 30th April.

An exhibition of photographs that explore portraiture taken by Year 10 GCSE Photography students from Christ the King College, Newport.

The students began this project by visiting Dimbola Museum and Galleries to gain insight to the works of Julia Margaret Cameron. This experience and prior study of the Pre-Raphaelite painters have inspired their well-considered and creative responses to the theme of portraits.

Dimbola is open Tue-Sun, 10am-4pm in March and Mon-Sun, 10am-5pm in April.
