IW Festival 2015

The Isle of Wight hosts two multi-award winning music festivals, the legendary Isle of Wight Festival takes place each June and Bestival every September. In addition, there are many smaller more intimate music events and festivals.

Water based sporting events


cowes powerboat festival

Surrounded by water, the Isle of Wight offers some of the best sailing and water related sports found anywhere in the UK. Cowes Week is the highlight of the yacht racing calendar whilst the British Powerboat Festival is all about engine power.

YMCA Daycamps – Easter half term fun for 4-12 year olds, 30 March - 2 April

Half term will be ‘choc’-full of exciting and inspiring activities at YMCA Daycamps this Easter!

Children from reception age up to 12 years can enjoy full or half days packed with fun indoor and outdoor games, arts and crafts, sports, learn new skills and make new friends.

YMCA Daycamps are based at Winchester House, Shanklin, and will run this Easter from 30th March – 2nd April and 7th – 10th April.

Our excellent and experienced staff are DBS checked to the enhanced level, giving you total confidence in this Ofsted registered childcare programme.

This school holiday Daycamps has two themes, ‘Weather’ and ‘Easter’; activities will include kite making, YMCA cinema, making tasty rainbow pizzas, ice cube painting, creating keepsake boxes, cycling, den building and much more!

Children can enjoy either a full day (8am – 6pm) for £20, or a half day (8am – 1pm / 1pm – 6pm) for £12.

Our popular Pre-Sailing skills session is back for the Easter holidays

Have fun and learn practical, life saving skills like rigging, boat controls and capsize drills in the safety of our pool.

Open to ages 6+ (for under 8's a responsible adult is required to stay on site.)

Must be able to swim 25 metres.

You will need a wetsuit or old t-shirt and shorts. Bring a snack or buy from our cafe.

To guarantee a place we recommend you book and pay in advance.
