What’s on offer?
Weekend residential courses, day courses, bespoke cooking tuition and lunch and dinner events throughout the year. Children’s cooking sessions are also available and can be tailored to all ages.

Italian Cookery

Self-taught gourmet Peter Kirchem spent many years living in Italy, where he fine-tuned his cooking skills at the renowned Lo Scalo restaurant in Cannobio.

He now offers informal Italian cookery classes in his Cowes kitchen.

Cookery Classes at The Royal Hotel, Ventnor

Executive head chef Alan Stanley and head chef Dan Maskell are renowned across the island for their award-winning seasonal food at The Royal’s Appuldurcombe Restaurant.

What’s on offer?
One and two-hour and half-day bespoke cookery classes throughout the year tailored to small groups and individuals in the hotel kitchens and led by The Royal’s team of chefs. Children’s sessions are available during school holidays.

Classes include game cooking for beginners, bread and jam making and dinner party desserts with a focus on island produce. The hotel can also arrange hunting, fishing and foraging to complete the experience. Children’s chocolate masterclasses include a talk on the history of chocolate and hands-on truffle and chocolate making.
