Winter Days Out to the Isle of Wight
Winter is a great time to visit the Isle of Wight. Take a guided tour of Osborne House and see how the Victorians celebrated Christmas. Enter into the festive spirit and hop aboard a Santa, Mince Pie or Hangover 'Specials' at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway - there are seasonal refreshments and a present for children with every ticket. Other attractions open through the winter include; Dinosaur Isle; Brading Roman Villa; Amazon World; Carisbrooke Castle and Brickfields Horse Country.

- Santa Specials operate on 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20-24 Dec 2009 with departures from Havenstreet at 10.40, 11.40, 13.13, 14.13 and 15.13 and departures from Smalbrook Jct at 11.00 and 12.00.
- Mince Pie Specials run between 26-28 Dec 2009 with departures from Havenstreet at 10.40, 11.50, 13.50 & 15.00 hrs
- Hangover Specials operate on 1 and 2 Jan 2010 from Havenstreet at 10.40, 11.50, 13.50 & 15.00 hrs.

Getting to Havenstreet (PO33 4DS): From East Cowes follow the A3021, take the first exit at the roundabout, turn right into Park Road, straight ahead onto Briddlesford Road. Turn left onto Combley Road. Continue on this road, Isle of Wight Steam Railway is on your left. It has its own car park. Travel time: 11 – 14 minutes (6 miles).

Christmas at Osborne House
Come and see for yourself how the Victorians celebrated Christmas at Queen Victoria's beloved Osborne House near East Cowes. Guided Christmas tours of Osborne House (authentically decorated for the festive season) operate on Wednesday to Sunday between 10.00 & 16.00 (last tour starts at 14.30). Restaurant, café and gift shop.

Getting to Osborne (PO32 6JY): Take advantage of Red Funnel's 2 for 1 foot passenger offer to East Cowes and catch the connecting bus (service 4 or 5) which stops right outside (5 min journey). From West Cowes, catch the floating bridge. If travelling by car, from East Cowes follow the A30211 (York Avenue) for 1 mile, Osborne House is on the left. Parking is available on site.
