Abnormal Size Loads
Regardless of the size of load or vehicle requiring shipment, it can be accommodated on board Red Funnel's vehicle ferries which are the largest ever to serve the Isle of Wight.
Red Funnel's vehicle ferries operate between Southampton and East Cowes with good onward road links to all parts of the Island. Getting to Southampton from anywhere in the country is straight forward, and once in the city, signs to the Waterfront and Dock Gate 7 are clearly marked. The terminal is spacious with dedicated hard standing for freight vehicles.
Any load that can pass under a motorway bridge can drive straight under the superstructure of our double-ended vessels. There is no centre-casing onboard to restrict the manoeuverability of freight vehicles and as the fleet is the youngest on the Solent, service reliability and punctuality is unmatched.
We can handle vehicle and trailer loads up to the following dimensions, subject to ground clearance.
