Red Funnel says farewell to Red Jets 1 & 2

Cross-Solent ferry operator, Red Funnel, bid a fond farewell to Red Jet 1 and Red Jet 2 today as they set sail for St. Petersburg, Russia, en route to their new home in Kazakhstan on the Caspian Sea.

Jonathan Green, Sales & Marketing Director commented "The sale of Red Jets 1 & 2 to Caspian Mainport marks the end of an era. Built for Red Funnel in 1991 by FBM Marine in Cowes (Isle of Wight) they revolutionised cross-Solent travel and have clocked up more than 1.2 million miles apiece. The vessels will be replaced by Red Jet 5 which enters service in July"
