redfunnel.co.uk wins Tourism Website of the Year
Red Funnel's website has just beaten tough competition to win 'TOURISM WEBSITE OF THE YEAR' in Tourism South East's 2002 Awards for Excellence.
A specially designed trophy and certificate was presented to Red Funnel's Jonathan Green and Tom Pell-Stevens by broadcaster Alastair Stewart at a Gala Dinner on 31 October 2003.
Red Funnel's success in the Tourism South East Awards for Excellence means automatic entry for potential recognition in the national industry 'Oscars' - the Excellence in England Awards, run by VisitBritain. The winners of which will be announced on St. George's Day 2004 in London.
REDFUNNEL.CO.UK is a large website promoting both the Isle of Wight and the Company's travel and holiday products. Key sections are: -
- Travel: Timetables, fares and useful travel information apart, this section enables virtually all Red Funnel's travel products to be purchased electronically by private individuals, Island Club members, travel partners, trade, freight and group travel customers.
- Holidays: Some 100 Isle of Wight accommodation establishments are listed and all ferry inclusive holidays can be purchased via the site. A dedicated microsite for caravan & motorhome holidays recognises the Island's share of this market.
- Isle of Wight Guide: Events, Activities, Attractions, Day Trip Packages - these are all carefully listed to give leisure visitors an in-depth guide to what's happening on the Isle of Wight. Dedicated microsites for cycling, golf, walking, music and sailing help publicise key events on the Isle of Wight calendar.
- Other dedicated sections cover Media & PR, Corporate and Employment.
