Rhythmtree World Music Festival returns with rock legend Ginger Baker
Feel the rhythm... Rhythmtree World Music Festival returns with rock legend Ginger Baker
The Rhythmtree Festival organisers are pleased to announce that the legendary drummer Ginger Baker has agreed to join the main stage line-up for the festival taking place on the Isle of Wight from 19-21 July.
Showcasing a wide range of world music and attempting to bring a totally different experience to the UK festival calendar, Rhythmtree is again taking place in beautiful, rural Calbourne and features a rich variety of musicians from across the globe.
Baker will be performing with his newly formed quartet, the Jazz Confusion, and also guest with Dele Sosimi’s Afrobeat Orchestra for the Rhythmtree tribute to the music of Fela Kuti on Sunday 21 July.
Ginger is best known as ‘Rock's first superstar drummer’ and creator of the 60’s super group, Cream, with Jack Bruce and Eric Clapton. Rhythmtree is a unique event in the UK festival calendar and something not to be missed by any afrobeat and world music fan.
